Hi again Laurie,

100% Agree with you that AI can and will be a formidable force and can indeed write/mimic established movie templates. I’m not happy about it… but seems it’s coming.

Hmmm, while I think we have some similar sensibilities, I admit, I have seen John Wick, Mission Impossible and some other Blockbusters. As they are highly rated… I expect to see Oppenheimer and Barbie sometime soon, too.

Interesting to know there was some controversy about the Shuttlepod Show naming.

Have a Great Weekend!

Steven

P.s. I am away for the weekend… and see I am now behind 2 episodes of All Access. Looking forward to listening to both including today’s bonus edition. My Go-To listening is done on my home Elliptical!

I also do a lot of my podcast listening on the treadmill! It's the only thing that gets me to exercise and sometimes makes me stay on there longer. Just saw Barbie and enjoyed it, I think we will see Oppenheimer next weekend. Those can't be written by AI either! But a Fast & Furious movie could (I say, having never seen one). And hey, people should enjoy their movies no matter what I think about them. I'm just not much of an action movie gal.

Hi Laurie,

I’m guessing the Strike doesn’t impact “All Access” except what guests can talk about. All Access is my favorite weekly Podcast. Tony and you are the Best.

I know Shuttlepod Show isn’t your favorite but you might want to listen to some of S2-E20 titled “Fontaine of Wisdom” with James Darren. The stories he tells are just fantastic (growing up, family, friendship with Sinatra and of course a bit about his 7 holographic episodes on DS9).

Laurie, you surprised me when you wrote… AI could write many of today’s mainstream blockbusters & make a crapload of money. Makes me think this could be a long Strike.

I’m really enjoying SNW (Glass 1/2 full)… but I’m also dreading the end of the Season 2 (Glass 1/2 empty)

Have a Great Trip to Vegas… looking forward to hearing about it!

Hi Steve! You're correct, since Tony & I are not in the guild or paid by the studios, we aren't under any restrictions. But yeah, we can't have any actors on to talk about their shows.

Don't you think AI could write a blockbuster? It can't generate those unique movies that come from the spark of inspiration in someone's mind (and heart and soul), but it could definitely analyze a working formula (Mission: Impossible) and come up with everything needed to make a new one. (I say that not having seen any of them, oops. SNOB.)

Ooh I will listen to the James Darren episode, I love stories like that! I have nothing against Shuttlepod Show (except that they used that name after we asked them not to)... they had a great interview with RIck Berman. I suspect james Darren has stories in the Paul Anka kind of territory... I will check it out. Thanks!

Cool Hat & Hollywood Sun Glasses!

We’ll be seeing Oppenheimer tomorrow at 11am (Retired Life!) and then Barbie next week. This will be 4 weeks in a row at the movies including Indy Jones and Mission Impossible which were both Fun… but a lot of Action so maybe not your cup of Earl Grey. Love the Big Screen although we Stream a lot, too. Have a Great Week Laurie!

I've noticed so many of them are posting "recorded before the strike"...

Yep! They're putting it on everything so they don't get in trouble, which makes sense
