I think I told you this already, but I interviewed Sandra Bernhard about twenty years ago and it was great. First, she was just interesting and thoughtful to talk to, and at the very end she complimented for asking her different questions than she usually gets.

I don't think you ever told me this! Where can I read or listen to this interview? I find her fascinating.

Wrote it for a local weekly that had no internet presence. https://neilshurley.com/writing-samples/sample-interview-sandra-bernhard/

That was a good interview! Interesting time to talk to her too. You should check out her episode of Don't Ask Tig, she talks about her daughter in that one too.

Hi Laurie,

Fun Read as usual…

I especially took note of the happy news that the Delta Flyers along with Armin & Terry will be covering DS9 (sounds like once the Strike is over). Sweet, Indeed!

We share the Obsession with SNW’s Broadway Trek episode. I have to admit I was skeptical going in… but it was so very well done.

You did a wonderful job on on the State of Star Trek podcast. You got a lot of great points in. I wish it was longer so you had more time to speak.

I’m a regular listener to Morgan Housel’s (author of The Psychology of Money) new podcast. It’s not a typical finance podcast. He refers to it as… Timeless Lessons on Wealth, Greed & Happiness. Episodes are short, usually 10-20 minutes. He is a wonderful storyteller. You might like it.

Have a well deserved Vacation… but come back soon! I’m very curious where All Access goes from here with less Star Trek to cover in the foreseeable future.

I’m curious, too, if you care to share, if you have other Sci-Fi interests. For example, I’ve watched and am a fan of Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5, Stargate SG1, The Expanse, etc.

All the best,

Steven, @chowzam

Hi Steven,

Vacation's over! Ah well. I will definitely check out that podcast even though I find finance topics really boring but it sounds like this might break the mold.

So glad you liked the panel. We had fun! All Access has had many stretches of time without fresh episodes, so we try to come up with fun topics and interviews. The interviews are a bit challenging now with the strikes, but there are options. We are taking this week off, though. Nice to have a break every once in a while.

I have not watched any of those other sci-fi shows, although I hear great things specifically about The Expanse and Battlestar Galactica. I loved Timeless and I love For All Mankind. I think of Severance as sci-fi too another great show. I want to give Foundation another shot as well. I'm also a massive Ray Bradbury fan and I like a lot of sci-fi stories from his era when they used to be in anthologies and magazines.

I very much enjoyed For All Mankind and Severance, too, and agree they are Sci-Fi.

Timeless was never on my radar but it definitely is now. I haven’t seen Foundation either but I’ve added it to the list.

Currently I am watching HBOMAX’s The Last of Us which although a bit scary is very good.

I often use Rotten Tomatoes to help sort through what makes the final viewership cut.

Enjoy the weekend Laurie!

I think you will like Timeless. It ended after two seasons but it got a wrap-up movie after fans went nuts and launched all kinds of campaigns to get a proper conclusion. Armin Shimerman is in it too! I feel like The Last of Us might not be for me, but obviously I hear great things about it. And now I think there should be a musical about Twitter and his determination to run it into the ground. Ethan Peck is too classy and handsome to play him, though.

Laurie,

Ok, I am so ready to see Timeless. Love Time Travel and getting to interact with famous folks from history is a bonus. Good Critics score on Rotten Tomatoes 91. Your Celebrity Insider strong endorsement plus Quark Himself moves this to a near term watch!

Good call on The Last of Us; while I’m half way through the series… there are some Zombies which isn’t really my thing and I’m guessing not yours. I’m overlooking the Zombies at least for now!

Keep me posted on The Last of Us. Also not into zombies. (Not interested in vampires, either.)
